As everyone would have guessed by now, I went for my first baseball game! Haha, although it wasn't the yankees, it was good enough I guess. To experience the lifestyle of a baseball mad fan.
The picture on the left shows the ticket stub that I got and get to keep. They do not tear off the stub as they will electronically scan it when you enter to calculate attendance (woah!) haha.
A little background on the game. The Mets have more or less won the division but the Braves are still trying to fight for a wildcard slot so this game was pretty impt and hopefully exciting!

The game was at Shea Stadium which is at Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York. WHICH incidentally is where the US open is held! Din manage to get in but thats the picture of the Arthur Ashe Stadium where Agassi played his last game! Too bad did not manage to catch it. The tickets were way too expensive (at least 100 USD!). But at least I get to keep the bragging rights that I was there while some matches were going on! Definitely must get a shot of myself with the stadium to prove that I went there man. Thats the good thing abt the subway here. It goes everywhere.

The stops are very close by. Like all major stadiums get a stop so it's super convenient man. Just walk out and left or right will get you to 2 major places. Oh well I'm here for the baseball game. On a side-note, I missed the NY marathon also damn. The day I came back after the 2 week trip was the day the marathon was held. Damn supposed to be one major event man.

Anyway here is the Shea Stadium and me.

And me before the field. Amazing view i tell you. To get the total american experience, we did not get dinner before that. So we went there and like the Americans, bought fries and burgers or chicken tenders and drinks and what not. Guess what the price is almost quadruple! Regretted that. Chicken tenders w fries and a mountain dew set me back abt US$12. Ouch. But well just to complete the experience. All that was missing was the beer haha. The match was quite disappointing though. The Mets played badly and was never up to the challenge at all. Did not get to see any homeruns but wow there were some defensive gems by the braves. No wonder they are paid so much just to play baseball. Most prob took steroids as they are all super buff. The weather was fine but just too breezy. The crowd of 42,000 ish did not seem like 42k at all! So subdued. Guess the US open plus the labor day holiday really kept the crowd away man. But well for $2.50 a ticket it was good. Did not manage to get anything but got a Mets souvenir cup which came w the mountain dew. Anyway looking forward to the next Yankees game. Will definitely watch as many as possible. My idols! But their tickets are like 4 times the price at $10. But heck care. I want a yankee jersey now that I got my cup. One last wish though. Like I told my bb earlier, I so much wanted her to be here. I'm sure derek and judy would want to catch these as well. But nm, I'll watch behalf of them! Heh.
Well that abt ends it. School has started for me. Got 2 classes today and one of them has an mcq class every week. Stern is pretty shiong man! But nm.. gotta start making plans to travel to the next city already. Hope it works out. No more cash. Been spending too much. Everyday we cook pasta and pasta w the same things.. haha as long as it fills up the tummy! Till the next update everyone!
